Two loads, one pack
The VACDRILL is unusual in that its battery does two jobs. It drives the rotary hammer, which is a high, intermittent load, and it drives the vacuum pump, which is a lower but continuous load that must never be interrupted while the tool is attached to a wall.
Published configurations are 20 V 6 Ah lithium-ion and 20 V 5.0 Ah lithium-ion.
Why cordless matters here specifically
The whole proposition is a tool that goes where a person cannot comfortably brace themselves — up a ladder, on a soffit, on a facade. Trailing a mains lead to that position reintroduces exactly the hazard the tool removes.
It also means the machine can be placed and left anchored while the operator repositions.
Managing runtime
- Carry a second pack. The pump draws whenever the tool is attached, so idle attached time costs charge.
- Detach when you are not drilling rather than leaving the tool anchored across a break.
- Cold packs deliver less current; in winter keep spares out of the cold.
